Fly-Men Fish Skull Faux Bucktail (Clearance)

The Fish-Skull Faux Bucktail from Fly-Men is a tapered synthetic fiber designed to mimic premium-length natural bucktail. It features the same basic diameter, gentle crinkle, and taper as real bucktail, offering a very similar appearance and water action. The fiber looks almost identical and provides the same distinctive bucktail fly or lure action in the water. However, it is not hollow, which helps the fly sink faster, and does not flare in the same way as traditional bucktail. As a result, slightly different tying techniques are required to achieve the same effect.

  • Every faux bucktail fiber is premium 6″ (152 mm) in length
  • More than twice the amount of usable fibers per tail, eliminating the need for sorting and handling

3 reviews for Fly-Men Fish Skull Faux Bucktail – Premium Synthetic Fishing Fly Fiber

  1. Joan Chapman –

This faux bucktail works well in my fly patterns. It looks very natural and sinks smoothly. I had to adjust my tying technique slightly, but the results are consistent and reliable in the water.

  2. Connor Cameron –

Great value for the price. The fibers are long and consistent. I noticed it doesn’t flare like real bucktail, which is a good thing for deeper water fishing.

  3. David Powell –

I used it in several streamer patterns and it held up well. The action in the water is very close to natural bucktail, and the length is perfect for most tying setups.
