Tetra – Golden Flame 2cm

Tetras are considered easy to keep in a community aquarium of at least 20L, with a pH of 5.0–7.0 and KH of 1.0–2.0. They will not tolerate dramatic changes to their environment. The Tetra can live 10 years or more with proper conditions. They tend to be timid and, due to their small size, should not be kept with large or aggressive fish who may bully or eat them.

Fish that mix well in an aquarium include other types of tetras and other community fish that thrive in ideal Tetra water conditions.

Mid-level feeders, they are best kept in schools of five to eight or more to achieve the ‘shoaling’ effect. This behavior mimics their natural habitat and results in more vibrant colors, increased activity, and overall better well-being.

  1. Diana Mills –

I kept a school of five Golden Flame Tetras in a 30L tank. They are very active and their colors shine brightly. The water parameters stayed stable, and they’ve been healthy for over a year. Only keep them with peaceful fish.

  2. Sally Russell –

The fish are colorful and active when kept in groups. I noticed they swim in coordinated patterns. My tank has a stable pH and I’ve avoided aggressive species. They seem happy and calm.

  3. Peter Sanderson –

I bought these for a beginner aquarium. The instructions were clear, and the fish adapted quickly. I now have a small shoal of eight, and they’re always moving in a group. Very satisfied with the purchase.
