Lil Bit Craven – Dark Olive
The Lil Bit has been my secret for about five years now.
I started playing with the idea of an even smaller Two Bit Hooker style fly, with two heavy tungsten beads, but wanted something more along the profile of the insanely effective Jujubaetis.
Three hundred and forty-seven tries later, the Lil Bit dropped from my vise and went directly to the river.
Super slim with an overcoat of UV Resin and a dark wingcase, lots of colors, a perfect mayfly silhouette and the requisite two tungsten beads make this a winner in and of itself, but now available in sizes 18-22 for those picky tailwater fish that are too good to eat a thicker bug.
This fly will change the way you fish and is sure to become a classic.

Charles McLean –
I’ve tried several small mayfly patterns, but the Lil Bit Craven is the first one that actually gets taken by fish in slow-moving tailwater. The dark olive color blends perfectly with the water, and the slim profile makes it look natural. It’s become my go-to for early season fishing.
Warren Forsyth –
After using this fly for a few weeks, I can confirm it’s one of the most effective small patterns I’ve ever used. The two tungsten beads give it good weight without being bulky, and the UV resin holds up well in sun exposure.
Madeleine Powell –
It’s a bit delicate, so it requires careful casting, but once you get the hang of it, it works beautifully in clear streams. The dark olive matches the natural mayfly well, and I’ve seen several fish take it on the first try.
