Sally Coleman –
This beetle pattern works well even on days with no visible hatching. The hackle keeps it floating and stands out in the water. My trout are consistently interested when I use it.
Jane Sharp –
I’ve tried several beetle imitations, but this one is the most visible. It’s especially effective in clear water where fish need to see movement.

Great for when the water is quiet. The protein content seems to attract fish that otherwise wouldn’t bite. Easy to tie and effective in practice.
